ABOUT EXHIBIOTION

"You're diamonds!" You are f***** Diamonds! "- I would like to scream. I would certainly aptly describe the popularity of diamonds in the jewelry and consumer worlds. On the Internet, on various social media platforms and websites, you can easily find various tips on how not to make a mistake, how to choose the most suitable, the most beautiful, etc. The fact that this object in jewelry is not new and not even a surprise, and sometimes even reflects the boredom of style and taste, at the exhibition specially sounds different. There are a lot of diamonds here. As much as you've never seen before. And what if you yourself realize that you are a diamond, but you never sensed it, didn't know it, didn't think about it, and what if you have diamonds under your feet and you've stepped on them more than once?...

Diamonds are one of the hardest naturally occurring materials. It is a mineral of the nugget class, its chemical composition is a crystalline modification of carbon.
The diamond designation in the Universal Sign Convention System is a diamond-shaped warning sign. These signs work in our social life to warn us to slow down and be ready to stop when necessary or when a special situation or danger awaits. in the modern accelerating pace of life, the warning sign acquires the function of stabilizing danger. The diamond trade market is also dangerous, there is a lot we don't know and don't understand, just like in the art world, and in this case even in modern jewelry. Function and object are the axis of the exhibition context.

By moving the body away from the functional object of jewelry, I try to ask a new task and explore the limits of adornment and the functionality of jewelry. I raise the question: do we decorate the body, or is the body itself an ornament, the most fantastic piece of jewelry? In order for us to resist something, I choose the rhombus-diamond sign and develop its semantic load. The wide symbolism of the rhombus does not allow you to concentrate only on geometry, it acquires visuality. The rhombus used in my work has acquired the features of an author's mark and, at least for now, is inexhaustibly stimulating.

The exhibition presents works: installation and video performance "Bangs", paintings "Black Diamond", "Gif" and objects of contemporary jewelry. The symbolism and function of the rhombus in the exposition of the exhibition absolutely corresponds to the contextuality of jewelry.

Ironically, the lines of Rihanna's song keep ringing in my head: " "...Shine bright like a diamond / Shine bright like a diamond / find light in the beautiful sea, I choose to be happy / You and I, you and I, we' re like diamonds in the sky...", maybe because it's winter, that St. Christmas!

The symbolism and function of the rhombus in the exposition of the exhibition absolutely corresponds to the contextuality of jewelry, so I invite you to rethink diamonds or count them.
