The Catholic Church was built in 1828 by Peter Petrauskis, the Latvian Lutheran and Glebov landlord. He built it for his wife – Catholic Scholastica. The church is located in the northern part of the village, near the road to Bauske, on the former border of the village and the peasantry. Two church bells were removed during the World War I. The building was reconstructed in 1928.

The architecture and interior of Zeimelis Catholic Church was built in quite solid classicism style. They are complimented by paintings and sculptures of various styles from the 19th to the first half of the 20th century. All works are restrained, but expressive.
