Their story began on 9 May, 1929, commemorating the 25th anniversary of abolition of Lithuanian press ban in Šiauliai. The first oak was planted by the representatives of the old press, three book smugglers: writer for “Aušra” Miglovara, poet Jovaras, and the publisher of Lithuanian calendars Liudas Jakavičius.
