Kurtuvėnai Manor is one of the oldest manors in Lithuania, known since the 15th century. At different periods, the manor at the crossroads of Samogitia was ruled by famous Lithuanian noble families: Kęsgailos, Karpiai, Skaševskiai, Nagurskiai, Tiškevičiai, Pliater-Zyberk. The authentically restored manorial complex includes a park with ponds, oficina, stud farm stables, cottar quarters, the gardener’s house, cattle-sheds, smitheries, etc. The complex is complemented by a nearby Kurtuvėnai mound, the 18th century St. Apostle Jacob’s Church with the old parish buildings. The most valuable building is a unique 18th century wooden Baroque-style barn. The barn houses a gallery where exhibitions are held. The manor has a camping site “Kurtuvėnai”, a volleyball court, croquet field, and children’s playground. There is a 1-kilometer-long hiking trail with info boards for those who want to learn more about the manor.
