💫ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS💫
Every person possesses not only a unique character and personality but also an individual language of movement. In these workshops, participants will be invited to curiously explore bodily sensations, impulses, imagination, and various movement possibilities, rather than striving for a "correct" way to move.
Through play, imagination, and guided movement tasks, a safe, playful space open to exploration will be created. Here, movement becomes a way to get to know oneself better, to observe the connection between the body, emotions, thoughts, and inner experiences, and to discover things for which it is sometimes difficult to find words.
What will you take away from the movement workshops? – greater freedom and playfulness in movement;
– the ability to better perceive the connection between body, emotions, and thoughts;
– more courage to move without striving for a "correct" result;
– the opportunity to discover your own individual movement language;
– heightened body awareness;
– the chance to explore—through movement—things that are sometimes hard to put into words.
💫ABOUT THE DANCER💫
Gerda Kalakauskaitė is a dancer, dance teacher, and the founder of the "Scena" dance and creativity studio; she has lived and breathed dance for over 20 years. She teaches contemporary dance, jazz, and improvisation to both children and adults, and trains young dancers for European and World championships. Gerda gained professional experience in London and deepened her knowledge through dance studies in the USA, France, the Netherlands, and Poland.
In Gerda’s practice, dance is not merely about aesthetics, technique, or form. The body stores experiences, reacts, adapts, and communicates—often before we are able to articulate our feelings in words. Therefore, she is interested in using movement to explore sensations, impulses, emotions, imagination, and the individual’s unique language of movement.
💫💫💫
Workshop activities are partially funded by the Šiauliai City Municipality.
