______
Men are taught to be strong,
invulnerable—but what happens
when that strength is turned against us?
When our bodies betray us and leave us
doubting our worth and our identity.
"guilt that never belonged to me" is a sensitive, visual narrative about lived traumatic experiences, imposed guilt, and bodily memory. Through the language of movement, the piece reveals how experiences of violence imprint themselves upon our bodies and shape our relationship with ourselves and the world around us.
The work tells the story of an individual seeking to break free from an environment dominated by aggression and violence. Yet, in his flight, he confronts the question of what remains when one abandons inherited patterns of behavior. Here, he re-examines the concept of masculinity—is it possible to separate masculinity from aggression and destructive behavioral patterns? In this work, healing begins with acknowledgment and the decision to break the silence—with the realization that the guilt one has internalized does not belong to them, and that past events need not define one’s identity.
The dance performance speaks through a personal yet universal experience—addressing masculinity, vulnerability, and liberation. On stage, the body becomes not only the focal point of the narrative but also an archive preserving past wounds and the process of breaking free from them.
