Audiovisual concert "Performa" to commemorate the International Day of Culture

Violin and cello, six contemporary compositions and one visually intonated sound journey. What does it look like to be able to feel how close our imagination is to audible, tangible, visible reality?

From complete silence to fortissimo, from a clean and smooth instrument line to the sound of noise. This is the audiovisual project Performa, which also became the first music album of the string duo Twenty Fingers Duo by Lora Kmieliauskaitė (violin) and Arnas Kmieliauskas (cello).

Performa is united by differences - both sound hypnosis and the nerve that changes it, the ever-breaking anti-ensemble that breaks the lyrics.

Contemporary music dedicated to the string duo - violin and cello - is still quite rare in Lithuania and in the world. Works written especially by Performai by Lithuanian composers allow them to spread their authentic interaction with sound and get into marginal situations. It is a personal, multifaceted journey full of sincerity as well as mild irony to a visual sound experience.

The authors of the six compositions of Performa are composers who create in modern performative art forms and examine different states in their work: Julius Aglinskas, Arturas Bumšteinas, Dominykas Digimas, Andrius Maslekovas, Mykolas Natalevičius and Rūta Vitkauskaitė.

April 15 6 p.m. In the entertainment hall of Šiauliai Culture Center "Maksas" (Aušros al. 31) we will celebrate the International Culture Day with this unique project!
