The most beautiful arias in the world will be performed at the opening of the anniversary summer festival of Chaim Frenkel's villa

in 2023 Thursday, July 6, 7:30 p.m. The opening of the 20th International Chaim Frenkel Villa Summer Festival will be held in Chaim Frenkel Villa Park (Vilniaus St. 74, Šiauliai). Soloist Désirée Baraula-Massari (mezzo-soprano, Norway) and the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra will perform at the festive concert dedicated to the celebration of the Statehood (King Mindaugas coronation of Lithuania) day. Currently, Chaim Frenkel's villa park is perhaps the most popular place in Šiauliai - more than one and a half thousand rose bushes are blooming, and more and more visitors come to enjoy them every day. Against the background of a spectacular sea of rose flowers, on July 6 - the day of the coronation of Lithuanian King Mindaugas - "Aušras" museum will traditionally open the International Chaim Frenkel Villa Summer Festival, which is being organized this year for the 20th time. After the festive concert, at 9 p.m. those gathered will sing the "National Anthem" in unison with Lithuanians all over the world.

Every year, the concert program prepared by Robert Šerveniks, the artistic director and laureate of the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize, becomes a musical gift of the museum to the people of Šiauliai and the guests of the city. At the opening concert, those gathered will hear the world's most beautiful arias performed by the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra (chief conductor Constantine Orbelian (USA), conductor Algimantas Treikauskas) and soloist Désirée Baraula-Massari from Norway.

Born in Stockholm (Sweden) and raised in a musical Italian family, Désirée Baraula Massari studied at the Stockholm Opera Academy, where she graduated in 2015. After that, she participated in the Young Performers Program at the National Opera in Oslo (Norway). During these two years, the performer performed such roles as: Tisbe ("La Cenerentola"), Mercedes ("Karmen"), Anina ("Traviata"), Glascha ("Katjoje Kabanovoy") and others. She has won scholarships from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music several times, in 2015. - "Bayreuth" scholarship. in 2016 in December, the singer was chosen to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize awarding ceremony in Oslo. D. Baraula-Massari often appears at the Norwegian National Opera, in other countries, at festivals.

The program of the festival organized for the 20th time includes 8 performances, which the audience will see every week, all summer until August 24. Two events will move to other museums - in cooperation with the Žemaitsi Museum "Alka" and the Daugyvė Cultural History Museum-Reserve, the outing concerts will take place in the Telšiai Yeshiva and the Burbiškis Manor (Radviliškis district).

As soon as the festival opens, on July 12, the ensemble "Makedinossimo" from North Macedonia with a unique sound will take to the stage of Chaim Frenkel's villa park. It is important to mention that the members of the ensemble will be visiting Lithuania for the first time and are coming to the country for a special performance at the Chaim Frenkel Villa summer festival. The ensemble was assembled by the world-famous virtuoso pianist Simonas Trpčeskis. This ensemble creates a unique sound in which the wonderful Š. Rhythms of Macedonian folk music and catchy jazz tunes.
